Marissa and I went up to Pumpkintown, SC, for the Pumpkintown Festival! On the way there I almost ran over a turtle! I quickly pulled to the side of the road and jumped out to see if it was alive. It was, so Marissa rescued the turtle and placed it on the side of the road. It was an Snapping Turtle. I think he is even smiling in the last shot for saving him!
We made it to the Pumpkintown Festival! It was packed out with mostly locals and some people that traveled like us.
There were bluegrass bands that performed live and the little kids danced along on the stage.
There were tents set up all over the place with neat arts and crafts! The metal workers, Kay’s Wrought Iron (706-376-9056), there, made some interesting stuff like Sponge Bob!
Roxana Evans also known as Beadingmom was also there, along with her family!
Check out her awesome work! She can make jewelry from family and pet photos and creates other amazing jewelry!
Check out Beadingmom on Facebook and her shop on Etsy!
There was a fun competition where people would try and climb a pole to get a bag of cash at the top! There were several attempts, however this last one was a success.
There was a horse at the festival and this guy with a hat covered in buttons.
We got a funnel cake and I kid you not, fried Oreos! I thought they tasted awesome. It tasted like funnel cake with chocolate in the middle.
Check out the pumpkin we got for this Halloween!
We had a fun trip and got to experience some new stuff! For those of you who didn’t go, check it out next year!
