The Georgia Aquarium is an awesome interactive aquarium that you should definitely visit, especially if you have never been to an aquarium before! The water tanks are huge and have giant glass fronts where you can get right up close with the animals! Below is a Baluga whale!
There are also tiny exhibits with all sorts of cool and unusual creatures, like this Weedy Sea Dragon!
You can crawl through a tunnel and the penguins swim beside you!
Then you can pop your head up into the penguins habitat, inside a bubble! One of the penguins was playing with Marissa while she was waving her hand up and down.
In the main foyer there is an amazing and colorful art installation that reminds me of Little Mermaid with the bright colors and ocean shapes.
There’s a tunnel you walk through with fish and sharks swimming above your head! There’s even a conveyor belt that gives you the illusion of you moving through the water! I love the look on people’s faces. It’s like how Amélie likes peoples faces in movie theaters when you turn around in your seat.
Look at the scale of the tank compared to the children below!
That’s one big Whale Shark!
This is one colorful jellyfish!
These little anemones were pretty colorful too!
The most colorful of the sea are the tropical fish in the coral reefs.
Erika, a biologist at the Georgia Aquarium, fed shrimp to the sea otters. It was so fun watching the otters interact with their keepers!
She could even make them do tricks, like pushing their face against the glass. The kids loved this trick.
It was really cute when Erika got the sea otter to stand for his food.
Be sure to visit the Georgia Aquarium! They are adding dolphins in the fall, and in another year they are expected to add manatees!
