Susan’s and Jennings’ Wedding

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

Susan and Jennings got married at Bonclarken in Flat Rock, NC. Bonclarken is special to them because they both worked there and had many fun memories together there.

Susan’s dress was hung from a chandelier in a little cottage building that the ladies were getting ready in.

Susan loves nature and this photo was taken behind the building that the ladies were getting ready in. Her pink flowers were vibrant and did an awesome job of accenting the green flora.

Susan’s father was very proud to walk her down the aisle!

Susan and Jennings’ rings decided to have their own photo shoot. They even laid in a glass of ice!

Susan and Jennings wanted a photo in front of the historic Heidelburg Hotel at Bonclarken. The amazing architecture of this building complimented the lovely couple. I loved the way Jennings held Susan in this picture, very James Bond, dominant and pulling his beautiful bride in close!

Jennings and his groomsmen were definitely some goofballs and had a lot of fun at the reception!

The wedding party had a special dance planned for everyone!

Everyone cheered and threw rose petals as the newly weds ran to the getaway car, an old but stunning Volkswagan Karman Ghia.

Jennings’ and Susan’s Rehearsal Dinner

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

Jennings’ and Susan’s rehearsal dinner was at Cedars in downtown Hendersonville, NC. The flowers and decorations were absolutely gorgeous! Everything was so vibrant and very PINK!

One of the coolest things about the whole rehearsal dinner was the groom’s cake! It was Jennings, Susan and their friends mudding in Jennings’ Jeep. It symbolized Jennings’ new path as he stepped into marriage! I think those may have been real rocks too!

Jennings’ dad and a few friends formed a little Barbershop Quartet and sang for the soon-to-be married couple! Jennings’ dad is a very outgoing and joyful guy that makes everyone feel at home, like they’re part of the family.

There were serious heart-felt toasts where friends and family reminded everyone how wonderful and awesome the two people are that were getting married.

There were also silly and fun toasts and jokes as the friends and family had some great humor and laughter to share. Jennings’ father gives his best look here with some false teeth! I love the big laugh his mom displays in the picture as well!

Jennings’ and Susan’s wedding  (and rehearsal) are extra special for me, as Jennings’ and I have been friends since high school! I am so glad he found such a wonderful partner in life! Susan has been a joy to get to know, and they compliment each other perfectly, I am so happy for them! It’s a great feeling seeing your friends find happiness and true love, and an even better one getting to document it for them!

Dan and Vanessa | Proposal

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

Dan took Vanessa to Crowder Mountain State Park in Kings Mountain, NC. Vanessa just thought they were going for a hike up the Backside Trail to the Overlook. When they got to the top, Dan gave puzzle pieces to Vanessa to put together. Each piece represented memories of their lives together. There were messages written on the back of each piece. Written on the back of the last piece was, “The moment I proposed to you” and in parenthesis, (Look Up!) and Dan was on one knee with the ring. Vanessa was ecstatic and filled with joy! She said YES!

Dan and Vanessa always have this connection to each other. They know what the other is thinking and imitate each other in a synchronous and interactive way.

Peace and warmth.
