Jennings’ and Susan’s Rehearsal Dinner

Jennings’ and Susan’s rehearsal dinner was at Cedars in downtown Hendersonville, NC. The flowers and decorations were absolutely gorgeous! Everything was so vibrant and very PINK!

One of the coolest things about the whole rehearsal dinner was the groom’s cake! It was Jennings, Susan and their friends mudding in Jennings’ Jeep. It symbolized Jennings’ new path as he stepped into marriage! I think those may have been real rocks too!

Jennings’ dad and a few friends formed a little Barbershop Quartet and sang for the soon-to-be married couple! Jennings’ dad is a very outgoing and joyful guy that makes everyone feel at home, like they’re part of the family.

There were serious heart-felt toasts where friends and family reminded everyone how wonderful and awesome the two people are that were getting married.

There were also silly and fun toasts and jokes as the friends and family had some great humor and laughter to share. Jennings’ father gives his best look here with some false teeth! I love the big laugh his mom displays in the picture as well!

Susan and Jennings really had a wonderful time being together and having some yummy food and fun laughs with their friends!

Jennings’ and Susan’s wedding  (and rehearsal) are extra special for me, as Jennings’ and I have been friends since high school! I am so glad he found such a wonderful partner in life! Susan has been a joy to get to know, and they compliment each other perfectly, I am so happy for them! It’s a great feeling seeing your friends find happiness and true love, and an even better one getting to document it for them!

Lindsey

Lindsey is a senior at Laurens District 55 High! For her senior portraits we actually went to a retirement community! It’s called The Villa at Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Community. Lindsey told me that The Villa is the main place where everyone from her high school goes to get their prom pictures taken. She said that the retirement community staff puts out drinks and snacks for the high school students and their parents while they are taking photos! It was actually a very pretty place to take pictures!

I love the yellow top Lindsey was wearing! It went so well with the green grass and trees. The whole place was landscaped beautifully. The Villa building was really nice too, with a wrap around wooden porch.

The little buttons on Lindsey’s top and lace curtains in the window created a European feel to the photo. I love how the lighter colors seem to pull out her eyes even more!

I loved her necklace in these pictures, it added a little pizazz to her outfit.

For a more relaxed look, Lindsey put on a cute pink t-shirt and some tattered capris. It gives her the opportunity to have pictures that don’t look so formal and posed, but relaxed, and a better representation of her true self. That’s something I’m always striving for in my photography, is to represent the subject as accurately as possible, while still providing a fun, bright, special picture for them to frame.

Greg

Let me tell you, Greg was a natural at taking photos. I could tell him, “okay, lets take pictures now,” and he would start modeling and look very natural. I found out Greg was a funny guy when we were talking. He is also one of those mutli-talented guys, going to school, doing landscaping, and playing guitar among other things!

I had to make this photo black and white. I love color photos so much! Sometimes, you just have to make a photo into black and white every once in a while. The contrast with the sun going down behind him just made the picture really fun in b&w.
