I had the privilege of meeting Governor Mike Huckabee today! He had a book signing for his new book, A Simple Government, at Barnes and Noble on Woodruff Rd in Greenville, SC! It’s really neat that his book signing was there since I had a book signing at the same Barnes and Noble! My book signing was for the children’s book, Bats in the Air, Bats in my Air, that I illustrated (written by: Martha Hamlett). When I met Gov. Huckabee, I gave him a copy of my book for his future grandchildren! He said, “I might have to commission you illustrate my next children’s book.”
I also made a cartoon version of his book cover, a copy for him and a copy for me that he signed! One of the book tour workers (pictured on the left in the pictures below), commented to Gov. Huckabee, “This cartoon looks better than the real picture of you on the book cover!” Gov. Huckabee responded to me, “You have my permission to hit him.” He, he!
