Yann Tiersen performed at the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC! He composed the soundtrack for my favorite movie, Amelie!
Tiersen played an instrument called a Melodica. It is basically a mini accordion!
Here is Lionel Laquerriere, the keyboardist.
I love the strong colored lights at concerts! They really change the way a photo looks and sets a certain ambiance!

Yann Tiersen’s band played songs from their newly released album called Dust Lane!
Tiersen is originally from Brittany, France.
Tiersen can really jam out on the violin! You can tell by the violin strings flying all over the place! This moment the lighting was so dramatic! Light engineers are so amazing at what they do sometimes!
We were able to meet Yann Tiersen! I’m not sure if he was smiling 🙂 I think he was very tired after jamming out on the violin and jumping around the stage!
I made an illustration of him, typing on a typewriter! He actually uses a typewriter as an instrument in some of his songs! The two paintings on the right are from the movie, Amelie, that Tiersen composed the soundtrack for. The coastline painting is of Brittany, France where Tiersen is from. I love making illustrations for my favorite musicians! I love to include little details that are unique to the musician! You can check out more of my illustrations at Davey Morgan Illustration .
