Ashley Carlisle

We started at Hightower Hall at historic Brattonsville in Rock Hill, SC. There was beautiful lighting shining through the trees in the front of the hall.

Marissa and I had gotten over halfway to Hightower when I suddenly couldn’t remember putting the reflector disc in the car. We tried to find any camera stores around, but we were pretty far away from any “civilization” so I had the idea to grab a big white poster from a Dollar General or other store that would have them. We looked every, and the only thing to be found was a tiny gas station and a post office. I had a epiphany that I could use one of the USPS whit boxes just as easily as a poster. It may not have been meant for this purpose but it did an excellent job! Needless to say when we got home I ordered an extra one so this won’t happen again. I’m so glad it worked out though!

I loved how Ashley’s hair was to the side, it looked so classy and original.

I found this picture on Marissa’s camera when we got home. I had assumed that she had just held the flowers there and then removed her hand real fast to get the shot, but she told me she actually dug a small hole in the ground for them to balance in! Smart!

We went to Glencairne Gardens for this photo. There was a cute little pond in the back. We had Ashley sit down and run her fingers through the water, I love the look it accomplished.

Ashley’s family had a friend with a farm and many horses! They came galloping up to us when we headed toward the gate, probably thought we had food!

Even a white horse! It was afraid of Ashley at first, probably because she was in a bright white dress!

I loved the lighting here, it was the end of the day and the sun was setting behind the trees. I always love the lighting at sunset, but you only have a few minutes before its too dark to get good shots without having to change the settings on your camera or use a flash, which I prefer not to do since they tend to flatten the image.

No more flowers. The brown horse took a chomp out of them. He didn’t like the taste of the flowers, stomped around and ran off. Ha ha!

The sunset was perfect this day and Marissa captured the sun beams perfectly here!
