I had the privilege of photographing one of the most awesome families you will ever meet! The Williams family was chosen to have a new home built thanks to Ty Pennington and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition! CVS has raised millions of dollars for research!
The father, Jeremy Williams was diagnosed in 2008 with ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease. ALS is a disease of the nerve cells in the spinal cord and brain that control voluntary muscle movements and there is no cure.
We started at Greenville High School in Greenville, GA, where Jeremy Williams is the football coach.
Coach Jeremy Williams and some players from the Greenville High School football team!
Extreme Makeover provided new uniforms and renovated the football field house!
The best part of the day was when we arrived at the house. Jacob came out and greeted us, then we got to the front door and he yelled in a loud Ty Pennington voice and dramatically waving his hands, “Alright guys! Are you ready to see the house! It’s amazing!” The rest of the family said, “Jacob. Why are you yelling?” It was precious and hilarious!
Here is the front exterior…
Jacob is really intelligent and wanted to learn how to operate the video camera. The videographer gave Jacob a short lesson.
And what do you know, he’s a professional in just minutes!
Jacob was born with Spina Bifida, three years before Jeremy was diagnosed with ALS.
Jacob and Josie wanted to show us their new house! Josie loves the rock climbing wall in their recreational room!
Josie’s room may look like an “everyday” little girls room with the hay bale bed and barn door wall…
However, upon closer inspection, the barn door slides to the side to reveal a secret hideaway and loft with windows that overlook their yard!
Jacob’s room is decked out like a high-tech control center! This would’ve been my dream room when I was a kid! They also installed a handicap accessible closet! You’ll have to check out the show to see what I’m talking about!
Jacob and Josie’s playground is handicap accessible and is really amazing!
Here is the whole Williams family, from left, Jennifer, Jacob, Jeremy and Josie!
Who can resist tickling dad!
Jennifer and I got into a discussion about photography 🙂 When they asked her one thing she would like to see in her new house, she said photos of her family everywhere! Jeremy is full of joy and proud of his family! They are all so nice and just a wonderful Christian family!
I want to keep some stuff as surprises! So there is so much more to the house than you see here. Watch the show to see the rest of the house and more of an in-depth story of the Williams family! ABC, the volunteers, businesses and companies who donated supplies, time and equipment, Ty Pennington and his team from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition did such a wonderful job with everything and really blessed the Williams family in so many ways!
Be sure to keep the Williams family in your prayers!
The Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Williams family episode aired Sunday, May 16, 8pm on ABC! Click here to watch it!
